Sky Sports Golf, 11am Thursday

Threeballs
South Korea's Jeunghun Wang makes his first appearance at Valderrama this week but there is a decent chance he will relish the Spanish test.

Solid approach play is vital for success on the Andalucian track and that is a skill the 23-year-old from Seoul appears to have in abundance - he is ranked 48th in strokes gained tee to green on the European Tour.

He finished 29th at last week's British Masters at Walton Heath, where he opened his challenge with a solid 69, and he has put in a couple of other interesting rounds in the last few weeks.

He hit 67 in his opening round at the KLM Open on his way to finishing 36th and carded a fine closing 64 on his way to 12th spot at the European Masters.

Wang has the potential to outperform playing partners Richard Sterne and Scott Hend when they line up for their threeball at 1.15pm BST.

Sterne was 22nd at Walton Heath, a performance that came three weeks after a 16th-place finish at the Portuguese Masters, but Valderrama is a course where he has found little joy judging by his average score of 74.25 over 12 rounds.

There is little to be enthusiastic about Hend's game after rounds of 80 and 77 saw him miss last week's cut by a whopping ten shots.

The 45th place he posted at the European Masters is his best performance in his last eight attempts, so it would be easy to get carried away by his prospects this week.

Recommendation
J Wang to win threeball (1.15pm)
2pts 7-4 general
