Golf punters who have got involved in the low-grade action which has stayed on the schedule through the coronavirus crisis suffered some frustration when the Golden State Tour announced a late postponement of the Mackenzie Q School Prep event at Wigwam Gold.

The three-round Arizona gathering, which was due to start at 2.30pm UK and Ireland time on Tuesday, was postponed until May 4. Punters with bets in place before bookmakers pulled down their markets were left wondering about the status of their investments.

Bet365 said bets will stand, although a 100 percent cashout option was enabled on their site to allow customers to void if they wish. Betway, Coral and Ladbrokes voided all bets and returned stakes.

Betfred gave their customers the option of voiding their bets and getting a refund or letting their bets run until the event is staged.

The two Florida tournaments scheduled for this week went ahead. Jordan Miller won the Ritz-Carlton Series 4 shootout, carding a 64 on Monday for a three-shot success, while Gavin Hall set the first-round pace in the 36-hole Minor League Tour event with a nine-under-par effort to lead by three shots.

The Cactus Tour continued this week at Sundance Golf Club, Buckeye, Arizona.
