Tyler Duncan was the 200-1 winner of the RSM Classic, the outsider upsetting 10-1 tournament favourite Webb Simpson in a Sea Island playoff, much to the delight of the bookmaking community.

Duncan holed a long birdie putt on the 72nd hole of regulation play to get into a head-to-head duel with Simpson for the title, then both players made par at the first extra hole. The PGA Tour maiden took control on the second playoff hole, though, and made his breakthrough with a gutsy birdie.

Earlier in the day, Jon Rahm won both the DP World Tour Championship and the Race to Dubai. He had been 7-1 for the former and 10-1 for the latter over Christmas last year.

Two European Tour events were originally scheduled for this week, but the Hong Kong Open has been postponed due to social unrest, so the Alfred Dunhill Championship in South Africa hogs the spotlight.

Erik van Rooyen was chalked up at 10-1 by bet365 in their opening show, but the in-form South African withdrew later in the day, leaving Christiaan Bezuidenhout, Charl Schwartzel and Eddie Pepperell at the head of the betting.
