Russell Henley can get the better of Emiliano Grillo in Reno, Nevada

Russell Henley signalled a return to form with a magical final-round 61 to claim second place in the John Deere Classic last time out and the putting wizard should get among the birdies in the Barracuda Championship this week.

Henley has been put up against a vastly inferior putter – Emiliano Grillo – in a Barracuda match with bet365 and the flat-stick master can boss this contest at a low-scoring track where anyone struggling on the dancefloors will probably be left well behind.

Grillo, who carded rounds of 73 and 79 to miss the Open cut by nine shots at Royal Portrush last week, is difficult to trust when birdies are freely available. The Argentinian has always been vulnerable over short putts.

The other match-bet option which appeals is Martin Laird as an even-money outsider against Martin Kaymer.

Laird has a fantastic record at this venue – Montreux Country Club – while Kaymer is teeing up there for the first time.

Laird boasts hugely consistent Montreux form figures of 4-2-6-7-15, and the Stateside-based Scot finished sixth in the Barbasol Championship last time out.

Kaymer spent last week desperately hoping someone would get injured or ill prior to the Open, allowing him access to the field as an alternate, but nobody did. He has jetted to Reno looking to revive a faltering career.
