When is the draw for the 2022 World Cup?
The draw for the 2022 World Cup group stage will take place in Doha, Qatar on Friday, April 1. The draw starts at 5pm UK & Ireland time.
How does the draw for the 2022 World Cup work?
The 32 World Cup finalists, 29 of which are known, will be divided into four pots. Tournament hosts Qatar are in Pot 1 along with the seven qualifying nations who are highest in the Fifa rankings.
Teams from the same confederation cannot be drawn together in a group with the exception of Europe, which has 13 representatives.
Each of the eight groups will be made up of one team from each of these four pots:
Pot 1 Qatar, Brazil, Belgium, France, Argentina, England, Spain, Portugal
Pot 2 Netherlands, Denmark, Germany, Switzerland, Uruguay, Croatia, USA, Mexico
Pot 3 Iran, Japan, Morocco, Serbia, Poland, South Korea, Senegal, Tunisia
Pot 4 Ecuador, Saudi Arabia, Ghana, Canada, Cameroon, Wales/Ukraine/Scotland, New Zealand/Costa Rica, Peru/Australia/UAE

The draw will be shown live on BBC One and Sky Sports. It will also be streamed on Fifa's website and YouTube channel.
Which teams can still qualify for the 2022 World Cup?
29 of the 32 teams appearing at the 2022 World Cup have been confirmed but three spots are yet to be decided.
Wales will face the winners of the delayed semi-final between Scotland and Ukraine in the Uefa Path A playoff final.
Peru will play either Australia or the UAE in the AFC-Conmebol playoff and Costa Rica take on New Zealand in the Concacaf-OFC playoff.
When does the 2022 World Cup start?
The 2022 World Cup starts in Qatar on November 21 and the final will be held at the Lusail Stadium on December 18.
Who are the favourites to win the 2022 World Cup?
Before the group-stage draw, five-time winners Brazil are 11-2 favourites to lift the World Cup in Qatar.
France, who won the 2018 World Cup in Russia, are 6-1 with England 7-1, Spain 8-1 and Germany 9-1.
Lionel Messi's Argentina are 11-1 to be crowned world champions in December and Cristiano Ronaldo's Portugal, who won Uefa's Path B playoff final against North Macedonia on Tuesday, are 16-1.
Wales, who are 8-11 to qualify from the Uefa Path A playoff final, are 200-1 to win the World Cup.
