England will take on Iran, the USA and either Wales, Scotland or Ukraine in Group B of the 2022 World Cup and bookmakers reckon the draw has boosted the Three Lions' chances of lifting the trophy.

Gareth Southgate's side are 6-1 to win the tournament, which starts in Qatar on November 21, having been as big as 15-2 before Friday's draw. England are 1-3 to top the group and skipper Harry Kane is 7-1 with bet365 to win the Golden Boot, as he did at the 2018 World Cup.

Brazil and France, England's main market rivals, are also expected to make smooth progress from their groups.

Brazil, 5-1 to be crowned world champions for a sixth time, start their campaign in Group G alongside Serbia, Switzerland and Cameroon, while 6-1 shots France, who won the 2018 World Cup in Russia, face Denmark, Tunisia and either the UAE, Australia or Peru in Group D.

Germany were the biggest hitters in Pot 2 of the draw and the 2014 winners ended up in Group E with Spain, Japan and the winners of the playoff between Costa Rica and New Zealand.

Tournament hosts Qatar are in Group A with Ecuador, Senegal and the Netherlands.

The final team in England's group will be the winners of Uefa's Path A playoff. Wales are 8-11 to qualify from the final against Scotland or Ukraine, whose semi-final has been delayed due to the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
