World Cup predictions from Didi Hamann: Jude Bellingham has been sensational
England can't only focus on stopping Kylian Mbappe in huge quarter-final tie
Former Liverpool and Germany midfielder Didi Hamann, who played in the 2002 World Cup final, gave his England v France verdict to FreeSuperTips.com
England are underdogs against France but I would not rule them out. This is a tough game for both sides.
You could argue France have been the strongest team in Qatar but England have not done much wrong either and have impressed apart from the USA game which finished 0-0.
England got out of the group, which is the main thing, something Germany couldn't do, and they have attacking options with lots of talent around the pitch.
Gareth Southgate is using those attacking options a bit more now, and if they beat France, then they will fancy their chances of reaching the final with Portugal or Morocco to come.
Jude Bellingham has impressed in midfield and if he leaves Borussia Dortmund next summer I think he would fit in anywhere. You can see that by the type of clubs interested - Real Madrid, Liverpool and Manchester City.
It shows how highly rated he is and we're probably talking about at least £100m for him.
He has been exceptional and I like the way Bellingham takes responsibility, which is how we were brought up 20 or 30 years ago.
You don't mind a player making a mistake, you just want to see them stand up to the task.
That's the most impressive thing about him - he leads by example.
At times for Dortmund he has tried to do a bit too much, which has maybe slightly impacted his performances in a negative way but he doesn't need to do that as often for England, because he has two very smart players alongside him in Declan Rice and Jordan Henderson.
He also has quick players ahead of him and the way Bellingham has played in this World Cup is sensational.
I also couldn't speak any more highly of Harry Maguire. The stick he gets from the English press and some fans, it has become a trend to criticise him.
He was excellent against the USA and when the attacking players don't play well, that's when you need your defence.
England can outscore teams on their day, but if they don't turn up, like against the USA, he was the best player on the pitch and a big reason why they kept a clean sheet.
Considering the issues Maguire's had at Manchester United, he has been phenomenal. When you talk about mental strength, he has shown plenty and I have to take my hat off to him. He has played very well after everything that's been said about him.
It's a different test for Maguire against France.
Whoever plays further up the pitch on the right side ahead of Kyle Walker will need to help him out, to allow Kylian Mbappe as little space as possible.
If Mbappe does get the ball and goes past the first one or two players, then the third and fourth players constantly need to be aware.
You can't fully take a player like Mbappe out of a game because of his pace and skill.
That being said, it's not just Mbappe who England need to be wary of and you can't put too much emphasis on him because that will leave space for fellow speedster Ousmane Dembele, who is also doing well this tournament.
