Match preview

The term Super League has been greeted with derision this week, but the Women's Super League is living up to the hype and Manchester City and Chelsea face what looks a title-decider on Wednesday.

They are comfortably the best two teams in the league, and Emma Hayes's Chelsea who are top of the table by two points.

Both sides have lost just one league game this season and Chelsea have not conceded in six games since a shock 2-1 home reverse to Brighton.

While City, who contain Lioness stalwarts Lucy Bronze, Steph Houghton and Ellen White among their number, beat Aston Villa 8-0 last time out, they should be tested by Chelsea's star-studded strikeforce.

Australian Sam Kerr will be buzzing after a hat-trick last time against Birmingham and Fran Kirby is rediscovering some fine form after a long illness layoff.

That ability could just tip the balance in the visitors favour and the motivation will be there as a five-point gap with two games remaining would virtually guarantee the title.

Key stat

Chelsea have kept a clean sheet in ten of their last 12 Women's Super League matches.
