Stuttgart are three points clear at the top of Bundesliga 2 and the leaders can enhance their position with a vital victory over Heidenheim.

Immediate promotion back to the Bundesliga was the aim before a ball was kicked and Stuttgart are looking good after three straight successes without conceding.

"If we do not go with the intensity and the hardness, it will be a nasty evening and I will not have a nasty evening" said impressive young manager Hannes Wolf, who is being linked with a move to Borussia Dortmund should Thomas Tuchel depart.

Stuttgart's defence is getting stronger and they have the options in the final third to take care of business on this tricky trip.

Carlos Mane has scored five times in 13 appearances, while Simon Terodde has smashed in 14 goals in 18 outings. Terodde's form is clearly no flash in the pan - the 28-year-old scored 25 times for Bochum in this division last season.

Julian Green, who arrived last month from January, is another option to Wolf and his hungry side should be up for the Voith Arena battle.

Heidenheim, four points off the playoff spot in fifth, have scored in their last ten matches but if it turns into a shootout Stuttgart possess the greater weapons.
