West Ham have slipped into the Premier League relegation zone after successive dismal 4-2 defeats at home to Watford and away to West Brom but they can emerge from their mini-crisis by beating Southampton at the London Stadium today.
Part of the blame for the Hammers’ poor start to the season has been put down to a lack of atmosphere at their new home.
There have undoubtedly been teething problems and tensions are ongoing between supporters who would rather sit down and those who prefer to stand, but the impact on results is in danger of being over-stated.
