New York sports fans will descend on Philadelphia in numbers today.

And while most will be heading for Citizens Bank Park where the Phillies host the Mets in baseball action there is arguably more at stake in Major League Soccer later in the day, 14 miles down I-95 at Talen Energy Stadium where the Red Bulls take on Philadelphia Union.

The home side could go to the top of MLS’s Eastern Conference if they win, but the Red Bulls are just two points behind Philadelphia, so there is plenty at stake even though there is still half a season to play.
