Rangers discovered their Champions League third-round qualifying opponents on Monday lunchtime, getting drawn against Belgian First Division A runners-up Royale Union Saint-Gilloise.

The Gers get a bye to the second round of the League Cup thanks to their European commitments but the first round is past its halfway stage and Raith look a decent bet to take it to the final day by beating Dumbarton.

Rovers slipped up at the weekend, drawing 1-1 with Stirling and losing the penalty shootout to miss out on a bonus point.

However, they dominated that game, recording more than double the shots of their visitors, and battered Peterhead 6-0 on matchday one.

The Championship side can get back on track at Dumbarton, who were relegated into the fourth tier last season.

Forfar v Stranraer is an all-League Two clash and Forfar look well worth backing.

It’s a low-stakes match but Forfar’s home advantage and the faint hope of qualification tips the balance in their favour against already-eliminated Stranraer, who took just one point from four meetings with these opponents last season.
