Tottenham favourites to beat Ajax and reach Champions League final

Tottenham are the narrowest of favourites to make the Champions League final as they continue to bask in the glow of eliminating Manchester City in a Etihad humdinger.

Spurs, 20-21 with BoyleSports, are just seen as more likely than Ajax, who are evens with Betfred, to come through a two-legged semi-final that will struggle to match the drama of Tottenham's quarter-final victory over City.

Mauricio Pochettino's team traded at 11-4, evens and 2-7 with Hills to qualify in the opening ten minutes of a match which had just about everything and they were back out to 9-2 before Fernando Llorente became the hero, scoring the final goal in a 4-3 defeat to level the scores on aggregate and progress on away goals.

Spurs and Ajax are 9-2 in the tournament betting and whoever comes through will be outsiders in the final against Barcelona or Liverpool.

The Merseysiders are 5-4 with Betfair and BoyleSports to reach the final in Madrid on June 1.

Liverpool will also be hoping there are some psychological wounds for City's crestfallen squad to deal with as they go down the stretch with the champions aiming to wrestle away the title.
