Toronto FC troubles likely to continue when Orlando City come to town

Orlando City’s run of six consecutive MLS victories came to an end against league leaders Atlanta on Sunday but they can get back on track with victory at Toronto FC, who have lost their last two.

The home side have won three of their last four meetings with Orlando, but they should be wary of a much-improved Lions side who are fourth in the MLS Eastern conference after ten games having never previously made the top six of the division.

Toronto seem to be nursing a hangover from last year’s MLS Cup triumph, having won just two of their first nine league matches in a run of results which included a 5-1 hammering against Houston Dynamo.

Their strikeforce of Sebastian Giovinco and Jozy Altidore netted 31 goals between them last season but have struggled this term. Altidore has been sidelined with a muscular injury since the end of April, while Giovinco has a paltry two goals to his name in the league.

Toronto's slump in form has left manager Greg Vanney scrambling around to find his best team and the club have now used more players (29) than any other MLS outfit this season.

Orlando have kept just two clean sheets in the league despite their impressive record but even if they are breached by Toronto, it should be a routine victory for the visitors.
