Thursday football tips: England and Northern Ireland look set for victories

Memories of their Euro 2020 final defeat to Italy may still be fresh in the mind but England return to concentrating on their World Cup qualifying quest when they travel to Hungary looking to enhance their chances of making next year's jamboree in Qatar.

Meanwhile, Northern Ireland have failed to score in their opening two qualifiers against the Italians and Bulgaria, so Ian Baraclough's side will be desperate for three points from their trip to Lithuania.

Hungary v England

ITV, 7.45pm

England have already won their three opening World Cup qualifiers and Southgate's team continue to go from strength to strength, so they should have few problems against Hungary despite the Magyars spirited display at the Euros.

England have won nine of their last 13 games without conceding and that pattern can continue.
