It’s not right but it’s okay.

Whitney Houston was arguably not singing about the decision by Premier League clubs to agree to five substitutions per match when she released the song It’s Not Right But It’s Okay but the lyrics arguably sum up the situation better than the hysteria in both camps.

“I think it quite obviously favours the big clubs because they can keep more players happy and more players involved by making more changes,” said former Burnley boss Sean Dyche, while Middlesbrough’s Chris Wilder claimed the elite were “selfish” in pushing for moving from three to five substitutions.
