The New York Giants have been unable to live up to some pre-season optimism and their campaign is beginning to mirror the one they endured last year when they claimed just three victories.

With one win from their opening six matches, the pressure continues to mount on Eli Manning, and the two-time Super Bowl winning quarterback's days at the MetLife Stadium appear to be numbered.

However, they head to Georgia to face a team who also find themselves underachieving, even if the situation at Atlanta is not as grave as the one facing their opponents.

The NFC South is one of the most competitive divisions in the NFL and Dan Quinn's side, who reached the Super Bowl two season ago, have allowed New Orleans to steal a march.

Their defence has leaked an average of 32 points a game - only divisional rivals Tampa Bay have been more generous - so given that the Giants possess a decent running back in Saquon Barkley and a star wide receiver in Odell Beckham, they are still capable of being competitive.

The problem is that the Giants have conceded more than 30 points in each of their last three matches so their issues are not confined to the offensive side of the ball.

The Falcons have to cope without running back Devonta Freeman, so that points to second-string Tevin Coleman having a heavy involvement.

While quarterback Matt Ryan can utilise fine receivers in Julio Jones and Mohamed Sanu, they face the league's 25th best rushing defence and Coleman is capable of taking advantage.
