Bundesliga 2
BT Sport 3, 7.15pm Monday

A thrilling finish is in store in Bundesliga 2 with a pivotal match in the race for promotion taking place as Union Berlin head to Eintracht Braunschweig with plenty at stake.

Third-placed Braunschweig, who have this game in hand on the top two, would go level on points with second-placed Hannover with a win, while a victory by at least two goals would move the hosts into the second automatic promotion spot.

However, Braunschweig can't be overly attacking in search of the victory as they need to protect their playoff spot from fourth-placed Union, who are three points behind. A two-goal win for the boys from Berlin would see them jump above Braunschweig.

Realistically Union need to win to stand a chance of finishing third, which would give them a crack at the Bundesliga via the playoffs. But Braunschweig may feel a draw is decent enough as it leaves them within striking distance of Hannover with winnable games to come against relegated Karlsruher and third-bottom Arminia Bielefeld.

Braunschweig have the best defensive record in Bundesliga 2 with only 28 goals shipped and just one goal conceded in their last six matches, which points to a low-scoring contest.

The stakes are great and the tension is high but this could be a nervy affair between two well-matched outfits and fine details may decide the outcome.
