Match preview
Three successive defeats have left QPR looking over their shoulders at the Sky Bet Championship relegation zone but the Londoners can ease their concerns by avoiding defeat against playoff-chasing Swansea.
Confidence could be in short supply at the Liberty Stadium with the home side looking for a first win in four games and QPR bidding to avoid a sixth away defeat on the trot.
Despite their recent downturn, QPR are the third-highest scorers in the division with 47 goals, although manager Mark Warburton bemoaned the lack of a clinical edge after Saturday's 2-0 defeat at Huddersfield.
QPR are having to negotiate the final three months of the season without their 13-goal top scorer, Nahki Wells, who was recalled by his parent club, Burnley, before making a £5 million transfer to Bristol City.
But Warburton's side are not short of offensive quality with classy attacking midfielder Ebere Eze on ten league goals this season and target man Jordan Hugill on nine, despite having made nine of his 29 appearances as a substitute.
Wells's departure should mean a consistent run in the side for Hugill, who netted twice when QPR won 5-1 at home to Swansea in last month's FA Cup third-round tie.
Swansea will be keen to exact revenge but their main motivation will be to secure an important three points and revive their flagging promotion push.
Steve Cooper's side started the season superbly, taking 16 points from their first six games, but they have won just twice in nine games since Christmas Day and have fallen four points outside the top six.
Six of their nine league defeats have come at home, including a painful 3-2 loss to Derby on Saturday when they conceded twice in the final 30 minutes.
Swansea had hoped to kick on after snapping up a couple of high-quality loan signings - Chelsea midfielder Conor Gallagher and Liverpool striker Rhian Brewster - towards the end of the transfer window.
Brewster has made a bright enough start, scoring twice in five appearances, but Swansea's 37-goal tally is the lowest of the top 15 and they may still lack the necessary firepower to crack the top six.
QPR, even without Wells, may pose the greater threat and their dodgy defence should be better protected with Geoff Cameron returning from a two-game ban.
The Londoners are on a poor run but are only eight points worse off than Swansea and can make sure the gap does not increase.
Key stat
Swansea have won just two of their last nine matches.
