Match preview
Stockport invested in proven talent over the summer in the hope of ending their 11-year stay in non-league football, with striker Scott Quigley among the new recruits.
Having found the back of the net on a regular basis for his old side Barrow, bagging in 34 of his 73 league appearances for the Bluebirds, Quigley has hit the goal trail for the Hatters and looks up for the cup in the televised replay against League One Bolton.
Quigley has netted in his last three outings for Stockport, including grabbing the opener when these sides played out an entertaining 2-2 draw at the Macron Stadium.
Quigley proved a thorn in Bolton's side for much of the first meeting and was among the goals again at the weekend against Bromley.
Stockport were held to a 1-1 draw by Bromley, another frustrating result for a team with promotion aspiration but sitting 11th in the National League table, and a leaky defence has been their weakness.
Bolton make the 25-mile trip to Edgeley Park fresh from a first win in six league matches when beating Crewe 2-0 on Friday night.
That was only a third clean sheet in 17 league games for Bolton and while boss Ian Evatt is fretting over the fitness of striker Eoin Doyle, he could be better served concentrating on a defence who have been breached in eight of their last ten away assignments.
Against a defence lacking confidence, there’s value to be found taking Quigley to have a prominent role in a potential upset.
Key stat
Bolton have conceded two or more goals in ten of their last 15 FA Cup games.
