Tight tussle likely on Shamrock Rovers visit to RSC

Bohemians can add to shambolic Bray's woes

The RSC should be rocking as Waterford host Shamrock Rovers, both of whom still have some sort of chance of mounting a title challenge.

Waterford were promoted last winter but their budget is understood to be one of the biggest in the league and Alan Reynolds worked hard in the off-season at building a strong spine in his side. He has achieved that.

Indeed, they weren't flattered by a 0-0 draw against Dundalk last weekend. Shamrock Rovers eked out a couple of narrow victories over the past week and have improved defensively.

The Blues are probably slightly underestimated by the market, though much will hinge on team news. As it is, with the goal expectancy pretty low, a draw at 12-5 appeals.

Dave Mackey is under pressure to arrest an alarming slide at Bray. They somehow held Dundalk on week one, since which time they have been a shambles, shipping six in Tallaght and five in Derry despite playing nearly half the game with an extra man.

Bohemians have lost games they might have got something out of but they have been competitive and, sensing how important this match is for them against a poor Wanderers side, they should collect the points at Dalymount.

St Patrick's host Limerick and Dundalk visit Sligo, with the cramped odds about the favourites in each seemingly about right. Dundalk have yet to concede a goal and have been well backed to win again.

In Division One, Drogheda and Galway play in a match that will give some indication as to how things stand in the second tier. It is early days but this looks something of a toss-up, rendering Galway probable value at 5-4 draw no bet, especially with the goalscoring form of Danny Furlong.
