St Mirren can keep Dundee United in their sights

Saints a good bet to see off Dunfermline

Kick-offs 3pm Saturday

St Mirren have a golden chance to get revenge on a Dunfermline side who appear to be going backwards.

The Saints were handed a thrashing in September at East End Park and that put Dunfermline on top of the Ladbrokes Championship.

But the Pars have been too inconsistent to mount a title challenge and have failed to win in their last six league games.

St Mirren were stunned by Dumbarton in their last home game, but bounced back at Brechin last week. With loan signing Danny Mullen going straight into their squad, Saints should have too much at their Paisley home for the Fifers as they try to stay on the heels of leaders Dundee United.

Ayr can make it nine wins in a row in Methil when they face East Fife.

Ian McCall's side just can't stop scoring and are going great guns. They could have some key players back adding to a squad that is crammed full of goalscoring threats in Craig Moore, Michael Moffat and Lawrence Shankland.

Ayr particularly relish playing on artificial surfaces such as the one at New Bayview. They have played six games on plastic this season, won all six and netted 28 goals in the process.

Fife blow hot and cold and manager Darren Young has chalked up some decent wins, but few teams in Ladbrokes League One appear able to live with the Somerset Park side and they should oblige.

Montrose can be backed at odds-against to beat Elgin at their Links Park home and they shouldn't slip up against the Borough Briggs side.

The Angus men are the top of the table after a fine recent run of form that has seen them unbeaten in the league since September when Elgin beat them comprehensively.

They have a great chance of revenge against a side who do not travel well.

Elgin are strong at home, but were even held by struggling Edinburgh there last week and they were tamed by Annan the week before.

Montrose look well equipped to mount a title challenge and can get another win to boost their chances.
