Gary Rowett played a key role in laying the foundations for Burton’s rise through the divisions but he can damage his former club’s Sky Bet Championship survival hopes this evening by leading his Birmingham side to a victory at the Pirelli Stadium.
Rowett’s association with Burton goes back to 2005, when he signed for the club as a player. However, his most significant impact on the Brewers’ fortunes began when he picked up the managerial reins in March 2012.
He established Burton as major players in Sky Bet League Two and had them in the automatic-promotion places at the time of his departure to Birmingham in October 2014.
