Tuesday EFL preview

It is a huge week in the Sky Bet League One title battle as Coventry host leaders Rotherham on Tuesday and in-form Sunderland on Sunday and the Sky Blues go into the double-header full of confidence.

The Millers won October's reverse fixture 4-0 but Coventry have hit a golden run of form since then and only goal difference separates the pair now.

Since Cov's last defeat at Shrewsbury on December 14, they have won nine and drawn two of their 11 league games, defeating a powerful Portsmouth side 1-0 in their last match at their adopted home of St Andrew's.

They may not enjoy traditional home advantage this season but Coventry have a fine record at their Birmingham base, with ten wins, four draws and just one defeat, and they can edge a victory over Rotherham.

The Millers have shown signs of vulnerability in recent games, drawing 2-2 at home to lowly AFC Wimbledon and needing an injury-time goal to see off Accrington on Saturday.

In League Two, Newport County's busy schedule could catch up with them at improving Grimsby.

The Exiles came from behind to beat Bradford at home on Saturday, having lost on penalties to Salford in last Wednesday's EFL Trophy semi-final, and the goals have dried up for Michael Flynn's side.

Newport had scored only twice in seven league and cup games prior to the Bradford success, while Grimsby had taken 11 points from a possible 15 before their 3-1 weekend defeat at title-chasing Swindon.
