Shrewd recruits could get Alloa back on track

Alloa were relegated last season but there are signs that manager Jack Ross has recruited well over the summer and a victory at Montrose today looks achievable.

The latest round of the Betfred Cup should again be treated with betting caution, but there’s a lot to like about the Clackmannanshire side this season.

The recruitment of grizzled veterans such as Jim Goodwin, who should be comfortable at this level, and guys who can hit the net in Greig Spence and Jamie Longworth should stand the Indodrill Stadium side in good stead.
