Shamrock Rovers great value to put Cork celebrations on hold

Shamrock Rovers v Cork City
RTE2, 7.45pm Friday

Cork City could win the league in Tallaght on Friday night but that looks highly improbable and Shamrock Rovers can give them plenty to think about in the televised game.

The Hoops are probably every bit as good as Cork right now – the Leesiders' form since Sean Maguire and Kevin O'Connor joined Preston is nowhere near as good – and Rovers make plenty of appeal at 5-2.

Home boss Stephen Bradley was mocked for claiming that the Hoops "battered" Cork after losing 2-1 in Dublin earlier in the season but the consensus was that there was little in it.

Rovers deserve to be a good deal shorter, possibly favourites. Lee Grace boosts their defence hugely and they have an abundance of attacking talent against a Cork side who lack pace at the back and are struggling to readjust post-Maguire.

Limerick, meanwhile, seem to be finding their feet under Neil McDonald. Two 1-0 home wins will have their confidence high and they are probably a little big at 19-20 to beat an under-strength Finn Harps.

Bohs seem no better at home than on their travels and in-form Galway will fancy their chance at Dalymount.
