Scottish preview

Hibernian have won only one of the last ten Edinburgh derbies but the Hibees look excellent value to buck that trend at Tynecastle on Monday.

Lee Johnson’s side have been performing better than their bare results suggest and a combination of injuries and misfortune has contributed to just two wins in ten Scottish Premiership matches.

However, they returned from the World Cup break with a creditable 3-2 defeat to Rangers and then hammered Livingston 4-0 at Easter Road.

Celtic crushed Hibs 4-0 on Wednesday but their Edinburgh rivals Hearts aren't in the same class as the Bhoys.

The Jambos are a capable outfit but they have conceded nine goals in their last six league matches which is definitely a cause for concern. Motherwell, Dundee United and St Johnstone have all scored twice against Hearts in that run and Hibs are a better side than that trio.

It should be a frenetic derby contest and at the prices it could pay to back Hibs to come out on top.
