Scottish preview

East Fife can win get the better of injury-ravaged Raith in the Fife derby in Methil.

The Kirkcaldy side lost their unbeaten home record last week to Dumbarton when they were without seven first-team players through injuries and suspensions.

And they won't get too much Festive cheer today either when they make the short trip to New Bayview to face a rejuvenated East Fife.

Fife have chalked up excellent wins at Stranraer and Peterhead in their last two games and they seem to have forgotten their nightmare William Hill Scottish Cup defeat to BSC Glasgow.

It's tight at the top of Ladbrokes League One and Darren Young's side could very well go into the New Year at the summit with a win.

Stirling can get the better of local rivals Stenhousemuir in an increasingly nervous battle at the bottom of Ladbrokes League Two.

It's eighth against ninth, but Stenny are surprisingly strong favourites despite a dismal recent run.

They have lost to Annan, Cove Rangers and Cowdenbeath and the return of Davie Irons as manager doesn't appear to have worked out so far as they have claimed just one win in ten.

Stirling have shown plenty of improvement recently and were unlucky last week to concede a last-gasp goal to title-challengers Edinburgh City.

Their two Dylands, Bikey and Mackin, have been in decent form and they will fancy their chances at Ochilview.

Morton look overpriced to beat Partick at Cappielow.

David Hopkin's side have the worst away record in the Ladbrokes Championship, but they have won five of their eight games at their Greenock home.

They are outsiders for the visit of the Jags despite being above them in the league table and finally got the monkey off their back with an away win at Alloa last week.

There doesn't seem to be much between the teams yet Morton can be backed at 2-1 against a Thistle side who have been floundering around the bottom of the table all season and who lost last week at home to Dundee.
