Preview

Celtic can take a giant leap towards making it nine top-flight titles in a row by beating Rangers in the Old Firm derby.

The Hoops were woeful in this month’s Betfred Cup final against Rangers. Manager Neil Lennon got his team selection and tactics wrong and Steven Gerrard’s side dominated.

However, Celtic won with an offside goal and Rangers blew a hatful of chances including Alfredo Morelos’s penalty miss.

But Celtic won because that’s what they do. And it’s impossible to believe that the Bhoys will play as badly again against Rangers at Parkhead.

Celtic are able to select a fully-fit Odsonne Edouard instead of Lewis Morgan, who looked lost at Hampden.

Classy Frenchman Edouard is able to hold up the ball and gets Ryan Christie and Callum McGregor into the game, which should make an enormous difference.

Celtic haven’t been at their best but they are relentless and have won 14 domestic games in a row.

Rangers will try to dictate play as they did at Hampden, but Gerrard has barely changed his team in December and they looked leggy and devoid of ideas in their midweek win over Kilmarnock.

However, Gers could score and Morelos can break his 11-game goal drought against Celtic. The Colombian is too good to be kept quiet for long and he should get scoring chances.

Key stat

Celtic to win and both teams to score has come up in four of the Bhoys' last five league games.
