Scottish Championship predictions
Nine points cover the top seven sides in the Championship but title favourites Dundee should pull clear of the pack in the second half of the season.
Gary Bowyer’s men have lost just one of their last 11 league matches and appear to have hit on a winning formula for Championship success.
The Dee have a young squad so it isn’t surprising that they have improved as the season has progressed. It also looks likely that Bowyer will add to his squad in January and there is more scope for arrivals at Dens Park than at many of Dundee’s title rivals.
On-loan Wimbledon forward Zach Robinson, who has scored seven goals in eight starts, looks set to spend the remainder of the season in Scotland and Dundee have been heavily linked with St Johnstone’s Charlie Gilmour. Any additions will only bolster an already strong squad so there’s a lot to like about Dundee at the prices.
Hamilton and Arbroath were expected to challenge at the top of the Championship but they are both way off the pace so current leaders Ayr, with their prolific striker Dipo Akinyemi, look Dundee's biggest danger.
The 25-year-old has scored 15 goals in 18 league appearances for the Honest Men this season which has inevitably led to interest from sides in the top tier. Should Akinyemi depart in January, it would be extremely difficult for Ayr to replace his considerable output.
