Match previews

Inverness's inconsistency has cost them a shot at the Ladbrokes Championship so far, but they are strong at home and can get the better of Dunfermline.

John Robertson's side had won three games in a row prior to last week's surprise setback at Partick Thistle.

But Caley Thistle are a tough act to beat at their Highland fortress and can get the job done against a Pars side they have already defeated this season in Fife.

Inverness haven't conceded a goal in their last three games at the Caledonian Stadium and have experienced pros James Keatings, Miles Storey and Jordan White among their ranks.

Dunfermline have lost four of their last five games on the road at places such as Stranraer and Alloa too. A trip to Inverness is even tougher and the hosts can get the win.

St Johnstone have shown signs of progress in what has been a disappointing season and they should see off St Mirren in Perth.

Tommy Wright's men should have won by more than just 1-0 at Hearts last week and his back-to-basics policy of making them hard to break down appears to have worked.

Wright has Murray Davidson and Jason Holt pulling the strings in midfield and Matt Kennedy is a constant threat. It's a matter of time before they climb the Ladbrokes Premiership table and should be in no danger of relegation.

St Mirren produced an excellent comeback last week to deny Livingston who had raced into a 3-1 lead to claim a point, but away from Paisley they have lost eight of their nine games.

A win for St Johnstone sees them go above Jim Goodwin's men and they look a decent bet.

Brechin might be the worst team in Scotland, according to their position at the bottom of Ladbrokes League Two, but they have won their last two games and look a massive price to win at Elgin.

The Glebe Park side are aiming to avoid their third straight relegation which could see them having to play their football in the Highland League next season.

Brechin have appointed former Celtic defender Mark Wilson, who has stopped the rot. They have won 4-2 away at Stirling and beat Cowdenbeath 2-1 at home.

Elgin haven't won for their last seven games and look too short against a resurgent Brechin.
