Livingston kept their Scottish League Cup qualification hopes alive with a 2-1 victory at Cove last weekend but they could have their hearts broken by Kelty on Saturday.

Livi were fairly fortunate to win at the Balmoral Stadium, but you have to credit their resilience to come from behind, especially when you consider that new signing Esmael Goncalves was shown an early red card.

The Guinea-Bissau striker is suspended for the trip to Central Park and Livingston's efforts against Inverness and Albion in this competition have been pretty poor.

Kelty welcomed back key men Joe Cardle and Michael Tidser at Cove on Tuesday and that resulted in a 3-2 triumph.

That was a pretty good victory, and although the Hearts are out of qualification contention, new gaffer John Potter will want to build on that positive result and his side look overpriced on Saturday.

Elsewhere, Peterhead have managed just six shots on goal in their three League Cup matches this season and they could come up short at Stirling.

Of course, the Blue Toon have faced some tough tasks against the likes of Aberdeen, but Jim McInally's men have yet to score a goal, they have conceded ten and they travel to the Forthbank Stadium without suspended experienced defender Paul Dixon.

Stirling still have a poke of second place if Raith fail to get a result at Aberdeen on Sunday and the Binos have played well against the Rovers and Dumbarton in this competition.

League One Peterhead are a division above Stirling but Darren Young has built a decent squad and his side look a good bet at 11-8.
