Scottish football preview

Raith Rovers can maintain their Ladbrokes League One promotion push by winning at Forfar Athletic.

The Kirkcaldy club are still top of the league despite having to battle through a host of injuries this season and indeed have produced a couple of important wins recently against East Fife and Peterhead.

They have decent form on the road too, having lost just once away from Stark's Park since August.

This week they will be able to field highly-rated Hibs striker Jamie Gullan, having persuaded the Easter Road club to let him play one final game for Raith on loan before he returns to the capital club.

He has bagged ten goals already and will want to go out with a bang. Rovers will also have Iain Davidson back from suspension.

Rovers haven't had the best of records at Station Park, but they won 2-1 in Angus in September and can get a repeat against a Forfar side who are vulnerable at the back.

The bottom two teams in Ladbrokes League Two meet as Stenhousemuir take on Brechin City and Stenny can send the Glebe Park side deeper into trouble.

The Ochilview outfit ordinarily wouldn't be a team to back with any confidence - they have lost their last five games.

But there are signs that they are improving. They dominated last week's game against Queen's Park at Hampden, but failed to take their chances and lost.

They will surely get plenty of opportunities against a Brechin side who have kept just one clean sheet since August. Cove Rangers lashed five goals past them last week and while that's no disgrace in League Two, Stenny's home advantage could count against a side who have lost seven of their nine away games this term.

Alloa are an attractive price to beat an Arbroath side who have shown signs of wilting in Ladbrokes Championship.

Peter Grant's part-timers are bottom of the league, but they have an uncanny ability to put in the odd cracking result, such as when they went to Dunfermline and won recently and followed that up with a decent draw against Partick Thistle.

Dick Campbell's side had been punching above their weight, but they have won only once in the league since November and few teams relish a trip to the Indodrill Stadium.
