National League preview

Barnet have drawn their last two games 0-0 but can return to winning ways when they host Halifax.

The Bees had won three in a row prior to those stalemates, with Simeon Akinola finding the net six times, and have continued to show a positive flair up top.

Halifax meanwhile have struggled on the road, failing to win since the end of October and have conceded nine goals in their last three away fixtures.

The visitors are tumbling down the table and Barnet should be able to continue their good form at The Hive.

Sutton have climbed into the top half of the table after winning all four of their matches over the Christmas period, and could be involved in a high-scoring affair when they take on Chesterfield.

They crushed Woking 6-2 on New Year’s Day and have shown no problems finding the net. But they have kept only two clean sheets in their last 14 and may struggle to keep out the Spireites, who despite being 22nd have scored in every home match this season.

Both teams have scored in 12 of Chesterfield’s 14 matches at the Proact Stadium and more goals can be expected here in their first game since sacking John Sheridan.

Barrow have dominated the National League with only one defeat in their last 18, but may not have it all their own way when they host Ebbsfleet.

The Fleet have notched in 11 of their last 12 but have been very poor defensively and are unlikely to have enough to stop Barrow collecting another three points.
