Newcastle upset the odds at 12-1 by claiming victory at Tottenham on Sunday meaning it was a great weekend for Premier League away-team backers.

After Everton's Friday-night defeat at Aston Villa, seven of the other nine visiting teams won, with Burnley being denied three points at Wolves only by an injury-time penalty equaliser from Raul Jimenez.

Tottenham had been 1-4 to win their second home match of the season but they were sunk by Joelinton's first-half strike.

Newcastle's victory means that pointless Watford are the only team in the top flight who have yet to register a victory and the Hornets are 7-2 with Coral to be playing in the Sky Bet Championship next season.

Betfair and Paddy Power pushed Mauricio Pochettino's Spurs out to 4-9 to claim a top-four finish and the loss sets up a big north London derby with Arsenal on Sunday after the Gunners suffered their first defeat of the campaign when they were beaten 3-1 at Liverpool on Saturday.

Unai Emery's side are a general 6-4 to come out on top of the showdown with their arch-rivals while Tottenham are 7-4 with bet365, Betfair and Betway to claim their first Premier League victory at the Emirates since 2010.

Champions Manchester City took care of business as two goals from Sergio Aguero and another from Raheem Sterling helped them to a routine 3-1 victory at Bournemouth.

Pep Guardiola's side are 4-9 to retain their crown while Liverpool , the only team in the Premier League to have won all three of their opening matches, are 11-4 with Betway to win their first title since 1990.

Swansea moved up to second in the Sky Bet Championship with a 3-0 home win over Birmingham, while Rangers and Celtic maintained their perfect starts to the season in the Ladbrokes Premiership with victories over St Mirren and Hearts.
