Revitalised Red Devils set for fourth straight victory

After a sluggish start Kaiserslautern are beginning to meet their lofty expectations – winning their last three Bundesliga 2 matches to nil – and it could be worth chancing that the rejuvenated outfit can continue where they left off against 1860 Munich this evening.

Tayfun Korkut’s mob failed to live up to their ability in their opening nine fixtures, winning just once, but the penny has dropped in recent weeks and a reproduction of their victories over Bochum, Greuther Furth and Union Berlin should stretch their winning run to four.

The aim at the start of the campaign will have been to reach the German top flight and if that remains the plan then the Red Devils could be overpriced at 21-10.

The visitors are the second-lowest scorers in the division – behind only rock-bottom St Pauli – but they have conceded just 12 goals this campaign and that doesn’t bode well for 1860 Munich, who rely so heavily on their free-scoring frontline.

After a positive start the hosts are on a decline and one win in eight league matches leaves them with something to find.

The Munich outfit have won just one of their last 13 meetings between the sides and if Kaiserslautern are in the same mood that drought may continue.
