Match preview

Reading stopped the rot by digging out a 1-1 draw at Millwall on Wednesday and can re-energise their promotion push by defeating fellow highflyers Bristol City this weekend.

Despite taking just one point from the last five games, Reading are in sixth-place - only four points outside the automatic promotion berths.

Key trio Liam Moore, Ovie Ejaria and Yakou Meite have returned from injuries in recent weeks and general confidence levels should be a little higher after Veljko Paunovic's side came from behind to grab a point at the Den.

It has still been a highly satisfactory start to the season for the Royals and they should fancy their chances against injury-hit Bristol City, who offered little threat in their 0-0 draw at home to Watford on Wednesday.

City were let off the hook by Watford's cautious tactics but they are like to face a tougher examination in Berkshire.

Key stat

Bristol City have scored more than one goal just once in their last eight matches
