Leipzig have been scoring for fun since the Bundesliga restart with 12 goals in four matches and they should have more than enough firepower to rack up a big win against a Paderborn side who shipped six on their last outing and now have the worst defensive record in the division.

The Red Bulls kept up their Champions League qualification bid with a 4-2 win at Cologne on Monday as Timo Werner registered his 25th league goal of the campaign in another swashbuckling victory for Julian Nagelsmann’s men.

They now return to the Red Bull Arena seeking their first home win in the Bundesliga in three matches.

Leipzig are heavy favourites to pick up all three points against a rock-bottom Paderborn side, who are as big as 20-1 with some bookmakers.

Paderborn’s Bundesliga existence can now be measured in minutes and last weekend’s 6-1 thrashing by Borussia Dortmund looked like a terminal blow to their already slim chances of survival.

Having seen Paderborn cut to shreds by one potent strikeforce last week, Werner will be licking his lips in anticipation at the chance to cut the gap on Robert Lewandowski in the race for the Bundesliga’s golden boot with the Bayern Munich hitman currently four goals ahead.
