Rangers domination could lead to feast of corners
William Hill Scottish Cup
Sky Sports 2, 12.30pm Saturday
Thirty years ago Hamilton Accies pulled off one of the great Cup upsets north of the border when they defeated Graeme Souness’s Rangers 1-0 at Ibrox.
But it could pay to have a look at the corners market,
especially if Accies do what they did to Aberdeen this week.
Hamilton somehow carved out a 1-0 win against the Dons, despite losing 21-0 in corners in a backs-against-the-wall display.
It should be a similar battle at Ibrox against Rangers, who – like Aberdeen – often dominate possession without doing much with it.
Four of Rangers’ last five games have seen at least 14 corners and they will be looking to bombard Accies again.
Recommendation
Over 12 corners
1pt 29-10 Hills
Team news
Rangers are still without long-term injury victims Niko Kranjcar and Jordan Rossiter. The Ibrox side have appealed against Rob Kiernan’s midweek red card, which could rule him out.
Hamilton
Darian Mackinnon and Danny Redmond are banned, while Jesus Garcia Tena, Darren Lyon and Louis Longridge are out.
Key stat
Rangers have kept one clean sheet in their last ten games.
