The new Ligue 1 season begins tonight with Paris St-Germain in their usual position as red-hot title favourites.

PSG, under new management after Unai Emery replaced Laurent Blanc, are 1-10 to claim a fifth successive domestic championship.

Emery has said that Edinson Cavani and Thiago Silva lack match fitness and won’t be seen at their best until next week, although Jese is in line to make his debut against Bastia having signed from Real Madrid.
