Match preview
Sheffield Wednesday have no more cup football to look forward to after a 3-0 defeat at home to Hartlepool in the second round of the EFL Trophy, but they are on a ten-match unbeaten sequence in League One and can pick up three more points against injury-hit Portsmouth.
Owls manager Darren Moore has prioritised league results because he is determined to lead his team back to the Championship at the first attempt.
His side have recovered from a slow start with key players Josh Windass and Lee Gregory making a big difference after their recent returns from injury.
While Wednesday' squad is looking decidedly healthier, Portsmouth have got a few problems with Louis Thompson, Ryan Tunnicliffe, Paul Downing, Clark Robertson and Jayden Reid all injured.
Pompey lost 2-1 at home to League Two Harrogate in the FA Cup on Saturday and look there for the taking against Moore's fast-improving side.
Key stat
Sheffield Wednesday are unbeaten in their last ten league fixtures
