Match preview

League Two highflyers Port Vale have been fun to watch in recent weeks with their last six league games generating a total of 26 goals - 17 for and nine against - and the thrills and spills should continue when Darrell Clarke's men take on Bradford in the Potteries.

Free-scoring Vale have won ten of their last 12 games in all competitions and have a big incentive this weekend because a victory by two goals or more would send them to the top of the table for the first time this season.

However, they are likely to be wary of improving Bradford, whose recent four-match unbeaten run includes a 3-1 victory at promotion-chasing Swindon and a 1-1 draw at home to leaders Forest Green.

The Bantams hosted fourth-tier promotion candidates Exeter in the FA Cup first round last weekend and were unlucky to draw the game 1-1 having dominated for long periods and won the shot count 19 to nine.

Bradford went through a sticky patch of seven games without a win from late August until the end of September, but they have been getting key players back from injury and manager Derek Adams admits to having some good options as he ponders his selection for the trip to Vale Park.

Keeping the unbeaten run going will be Adams's priority, but his team are likely to play with plenty of attacking intent and have every chance of finding the net for a seventh successive game.

Bradford's problem could be at the other end because vibrant Vale are used to winning matches and scoring lots of goals.

Clarke's side have scored in each of their last 12 league games but only four of those have been accompanied by a clean sheet and it seems likely that both teams will find the net on Saturday.

Key stat

Both teams have scored in five of Port Vale's last six League Two fixtures.
