A must-win match in the battle to avoid the Championship drop sees Peterborough play host to Reading where Royals hotshot Lucas Joao could prove the difference between the relegation rivals.

Reading are two points ahead of third-bottom Posh, having played one game more, but there's a significant gap to 20th place which shows that both are in severe danger of going down.

Peterborough have collected just one point from their last seven Championship games and are without a goal in three, while the visitors are winless in ten and on a losing streak of seven.

Opting for a winner between two sides starved of confidence is risky, but Reading possess a proven goalscorer in Joao who is capable of firing them away from danger.

The Portuguese forward’s season has been decimated by injuries which have restricted him to just six starts this season.

However, Joao has netted in two of those appearances, opening the scoring against Huddersfield in January and repeating the trick against Coventry on Saturday.

The 28-year-old finished fifth in the Championship scoring charts last season, firing in 19 goals from 39 appearances, and should make up for lost time if staying clear of injury.
