An end to Crystal Palace’s striker shortage was in sight yesterday after they agreed a fee with Liverpool for Christian Benteke.

However, it is going to take a while for the Belgian to get up to speed and in the short term Palace’s attacking woes are set to continue.

Tottenham had the joint best defensive record in the league last term and should be backed to get their season up and running with a comfortable win.
