If Ipswich required any further motivation for Sunday's East Anglian derby with Norwich, City striker Nelson Oliveira gave them just that in the build-up to Sunday's clash.

Portuguese marksman Oliveira said that the Canaries are a "better club" than the Tractor Boys, and had "better players" earlier this week.

And unfortunately for Blues fans, Oliveira's brazen claims may hold some truth at Portman Road.

You have to go back to April 2009 to find the last time Ipswich beat their rivals and bookmakers are falling on the side of the Canaries once again for their latest clash.

The Tractor Boys motored through the first portion of the season and were top of the Sky Bet Championship table after four straight victories.

However, that success flew in the face of the stats - Ipswich netted eight goals from the 11 shots they had on target in that period and predictably they have struggled to keep up that sort of efficiency.

Since gaining the final success of that sequence against Brentford, Ipswich have suffered five defeats in seven outings, and their two victories in that time came against bottom two Sunderland and Bolton.

Norwich, meanwhile, have taken time to adjust to the methods of new manager Daniel Farke, but since suffering a 4-0 defeat at Millwall they have not looked back.

The Canaries are unbeaten in seven league outings since their Den demise which includes victories at Sheffield United and Middlesbrough.

They can continue their renaissance with a valuable derby win.
