Sunday was another day to forget for Manchester United, who lost 1-0 at 18-5 chances Newcastle thanks to a Matty Longstaff strike on the teenager's Premier League debut.

The result means United have taken just nine points from their first eight games of the season and they are out to 4-1 to finish in the top four. Bet365 make them 8-11 to end up seventh or lower in the table.

Things may not get any better for the Red Devils when they return from the international break to host leaders Liverpool. United are as big as 16-5 to beat their north-west rivals at Old Trafford while Liverpool are trading at 10-11 to take the points on October 20.

Betfair rate Everton’s Marco Silva evens favourite to be the next manager to leave his position and the firm cut Ole Gunnar Solskjaer to 7-2 from 15-2 after United’s loss to Newcastle. Tottenham's Mauricio Pochettino is 4-1 third-favourite.

An early David Luiz goal proved enough for 4-9 Arsenal to see off Bournemouth at the Emirates and the Gunners are 10-11 to finish in the top four. Chelsea, 4-5 for the top four, won 4-1 at Southampton.
