Danny Rowe and Paul McCallum dominated last season's National League scoring charts, amassing tallies of 27 and 26, and are prominent in the 2019-20 betting.

The market leader is Rowe, a prolific striker preparing for his sixth season at Fylde.

Rowe's has nailed goal returns of 26, 24 and 47 (in the National League North), and 24 and 27 in the National League.

He deserves respect but struggled towards the end of last season and Fylde manager Dave Challinor has spoken of managing his workload over the campaign.

There is scope for others to challenge and McCallum, who has made a summer switch from Eastleigh to Solihull Moors, looks a prime candidate.

McCallum is trying to work his way back up the leagues after failing to make the grade at West Ham.

At the age of 25 he has scope to improve and made a huge impact last term, scoring 26 of Eastleigh's 62 league goals.

McCallum could be even more successful at Solihull Moors, who have identified him as the right man to spearhead their promotion push.

Moors finished second last season, scoring 73 goals – the same as champions Leyton Orient.

They play an attacking brand of football and there should be plenty of sights of goal for McCallum.

Making the step up from sixth-tier football is never easy but Torquay's chances will be enhanced by the predatory instincts of star striker Jamie Reid, who topped last season's National League South scoring charts with 29 goals.

Reid should have another fruitful campaign and looks attractively priced.

A longshot worth considering is Woking's new signing Dave Tarpey, who is rebuilding his career after suffering a cruciate knee ligament injury at Barnet.

Tarpey caught Barnet's attention with a prolific National League South campaign for Maidenhead where he scored 44 goals in 2016-17.

His confidence appeared to be returning during a loan spell at Woking last term and he could go well at a massive price.
