National League Saturday preview

Chorley look set for relegation from the National League as they sit 15 points from safety with just nine games to go, and they could be in for another defeat when they face Chesterfield.

The Magpies have taken only three points from their last 13 games, all of them from draws, and they have scored just twice in their last six games.

Chesterfield are still in the drop zone themselves but they have been much improved lately, having won four of their last seven, and they were unlucky to lose to highflying Harrogate on Tuesday.

They have scored ten times in their last three matches, though. Chorley should struggle to match that firepower and look likely to suffer another defeat.

Boreham Wood have been in fantastic form since October and can showcase their playoff credentials with victory at struggling Maidenhead.

The visitors have lost just once in their last 18 games with draws the main reason why they aren’t challenging Barrow at the top of the table.

However they should have no problem taking it to a Maidenhead side who have tumbled down the table and are now just one point outside the relegation zone. They have lost their last three games with a defeat to lowly Ebbsfleet a real sign that they could be in trouble.

Boreham Wood have the third-best away record in the league and should collect another three points.
