National League Saturday preview

Barnet host Barrow in the FA Trophy and the Bees look overpriced to score an upset at the Hive.

Barrow are top of the National League table after a scintillating run of form but they suffered their first defeat since October at Dover on Tuesday.

To add to their misery, their coach broke down on the way home meaning they had to cram onto their supporters’ bus for the 380-mile trip back up north.

Now they make another long crawl back down to take on a Barnet side who have lost the joint-fewest matches in the National League and are unbeaten in their last 11 games in all competitions.

Darren Currie’s side have looked a lot more comfortable and in-form attacker Simeon Akinola can cause problems for Barrow, who may be more focused on promotion.

Four National League games are taking place and Hartlepool can continue their steady improvement when they take on Aldershot.

The hosts have been much-improved at Victoria Park since Dave Challinor took over as manager, losing just once in all competitions and defeating Sky Bet League Two Exeter in the FA Cup.

Aldershot are six points clear of the relegation zone but have struggled in their last four games and have won just one of their last 11 league away matches.

Kidderminster have won just three of their 14 at home in the National League North, and Darlington could add to their struggles.

The visitors have been in hot form since December and can continue their push for the playoffs.
