MLS: Seattle Sounders v Toronto FC betting preview and tip

The only MLS match Seattle have failed to win in this campaign was against Canadian opposition and they could struggle to contain another club from north of the border in Saturday's televised clash with Toronto FC.

Bookmakers rate the Sounders among the favourites to lift the MLS Cup after four wins from their opening five games either side of a stalemate in Vancouver.

But their recent fixture with Colorado was postponed due to an extreme weather forecast in Denver and they face the prospect of playing catch-up with Los Angeles FC in the Western Conference title race.

Eastern Conference opponents Toronto have leapfrogged them in the outright market following three wins and a draw.

That run included comprehensive wins over a rejuvenated Philadelphia and New York City, who made the Western Conference semi-finals in 2018.

Last season Toronto struggled while nursing a hangover from their 2017 treble-winning campaign but they look back on track to cause a stir.

Sebastian Giovinco's departure prompted concerns in attack but Jozy Altidore looks like returning to his best, with three league goals in 2019, while new addition Alejandro Pozuelo provides a refreshing creative injection in midfield.

The Sounders stuttered against the Whitecaps and in a 1-0 win over Real Salt Lake, so they could drop points against Greg Vanney's men who are oozing confidence again.
